01/15/13 - Women's Reproductive Rights and the VA General Assembly

About this episode:
The General Assembly kicked off its 2013 session last week, and there are again more efforts to further chip away at choice and negatively impact Virginia women’s access to affordable comprehensive health care. On the flip side, the extreme nature of last year’s legislation helped to galvanize and organize pro-choice voices, and forces are aligning to ensure that women in Virginia regain access to full reproductive rights. Two experts in this field are joining Inspire Indeed to talk about the opportunities to make a difference on the issues related to women’s rights, including next week’s Rally at the Capitol to mark the 40th anniversary of the Roe v Wade decision. Today's episode features Tarina Keene, Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia and founder and chair of the Virginia Coalition to Protect Women’s Health, and also Kathy Greenier, Director of the Patricia M. Arnold Women's Rights Project at the American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia.

Guest speakers:

Tarina Keene, Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia and founder and chair of the Virginia Coalition to Protect Women’s Health
Kathy Greenier, Director of the Patricia M. Arnold Women's Rights Project at the American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia
