07/09/13 - ConnectVA

About this episode:
ConnectVA is a hub for connecting and strengthening nonprofit and social sector resources, information, events, jobs, discussion and more! This project began in 2001 as a simple list-serv, ConnectRichmond, founded by URichmond and The Community Foundation. The revamped website features mostly user-populated information from nonprofit organizations and citizens who are coordinating and collaborating in their work to make a difference in the region, including job postings, an event calendar, and an item-exchange board. The newest incarnation of ConnectVA also has message boards for “issues-based dialogue” and can deliver daily updates right to your inbox. Inspire Indeed welcomes Program Manager Mark Hickman, who says that ConnectVA strives to be "a model for how nonprofits can use technology.”
